Jon, check to be sure the switch plunger does move out when you pull back ong the clutch lever. Also I'd look for a loose connection, probably ground under the tank. There about 3 meeting points for the ground circuits and looseness or corrosion will give you those symptoms. Intermittent problems. Corrosion can set up over the winter and give problems once the current starts wanting to flow again. Ask this old auto shop teacher who had to drive 60 miles to fix the starter terminal corrosion on the wive's van. Talk about curbside auto repair. It had all the indications as the winter went on and I ignored them until a no crank. Luckily 4 months left on the starter warranty and the NAPA store there had one in stock. Keep lloking until you find it, push starting a bike is no fun, espically with an audience. Max
